Bryan is pretty rewarding to start w/, and he's got potential in advanced play as well.  He also got good fast lows AND strong sweeps that goes into juggle.  You might find him to be a better character than Miguel.

Also, if you are into juggling, try Anna.  She is the juggle queen, and she's got good launchers from any position and range.  Not to mention how easy her juggles are, heh. :lol
