my view: he quit a job which he thinks he doesnt get paid enough, and it was noway anywhere near 1 million english pounds, more likely 100,000 . he choose to start his own gaming company, and the best place to start one is china - shanghai.

Why? modern city with cheap rent, cheap maintainance, away from competition, and european regulations and possibly less tax too.
