Play Galaga during the loading screen
To continue Galaga during the loading screen press Selec:loveliness: :lol t whenever the screen shows the number of hits. If you score 40 hits the first round, Galaga will automaticly go to the next level.

Rapid Fire Galaga
Hold down Triangle while playing Galaga for rapid fire.

Double Ship Galaga
Hold Triangle + X + Up + L1 on controller two for Double Ship Galaga during the game load.

Restarting Galaga
Press Select to restart your Galaga game, however if you restart on the final stage you will return to Stage One.

Beat all eight stages of Galaga. You may only restart stages once and the Final Stage may not be restarted. The Double Ship Galaga code cannot be used. After succesfully beating all Galaga stages highlight Kazuya in Arcade Mode and select him using Start.

tekken 2 :
Big Head Mode and Bigger Head Mode
Once you have unlocked all characters hold Select while choosing your character in versus mode. Hold the button until the fight starts. Hold Select again when the next round starts to increase the head size even more.

Super Juggle Mode
Once you have unlocked all characters hold Select + Up while choosing your character. Hold the buttons until the fight starts. The character on which side the code was entered will now float super high.

Wire Frame Mode
Once you have unlocked all characters hold L1 + L2 while choosing your character. Hold the buttons until the fight starts. Your character will appear as a green wire frame in a first person perspective. Repeat to code with R1 + R2 to get a second person perspective.

Play as the Sub Bosses
Beat Arcade Mode with any regular character and you will get access to one Sub Boss. Check the list below to see which characters gives you the Sub Boss you want. You may continue but you cannot change characters.

Play as Alex or Roger
Start an Arcade Mode game. When you get to the third match, win one round. Now, let your opponent beat you down to 5% energy in the second or third round. Once you have done this, quicky defeat your opponent. If done correctly, you should hear the announcer say GREAT! Depending on your character's outfit, your fourth match will be against Roger or Alex.

Get Kazuya's Purple Suit
Once you have unlocked all characters select Kazuya using Start.

Victory Poses
To control the replay hold Square or Triangle until the replay ends. After winning a round with Law, Yoshimitsu, Jack-2, Paul or Michelle hold X or Triangle to get a secret winning pose.

Theater Mode (Japanese Version Only)
Start the PSX with the memory card inserted. All characters must be unlocked. At the Black PSX logo press and hold Up/Right + Circle + X + Select. Hold them until the Namco Presents screen disappears. You can now watch the FMV's.

Record Practice Mode
Pause the game in Practice Mode and select the bottom choice (Return to Mode Select) and select "Free" from the "Mode Select" menu. Once on the "Free" menu screen, adjust the settings to your liking and return the cursor to the "OK" menu choice on top. Hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 and press Circle. You should now see recording and playback instructions on the bottom of the screen.

Tekken Ball Mode
Beat Arcade Mode with ten different characters of your choice.

Theater Mode
Beat Arcade Mode with all of the ten default characters. Once Theater Mode is unlocked you can insert a Tekken or Tekken 2 game disc and view the full motion video on those discs.

Releasing Extra Characters
To release more characters you must beat Arcade Mode with different characters.

Kuma : Beat Arcade Mode with any character
Julia : Beat Arcade Mode with any two different characters
Gun Jack : Beat Arcade Mode with any three different characters
Mokujin : Beat Arcade Mode with any four different characters
Anna : Beat Arcade Mode with any five different characters
Bryan : Beat Arcade Mode with six different characters
Heihachi : Beat Arcade Mode with any seven different characters
Ogre : Beat Arcade Mode with any eight different characters
True Ogre : Beat Arcade Mode with any nine different characters

Releasing Gon
First you must beat Arcade Mode with all ten default characters. At this point Gon will appear as your first opponent in Tekken Ball Mode and at random in Arcade Mode. Defeat Gon in either Mode and he will be selectable. If you fail to defeat Gon in Tekken Ball Mode, he will not appear there again and you have to defeat him at random in Arcade Mode. Or get first place in Time Attack Mode or Survival Mode and enter GON as your initials.

Releasing Dr. Bosconovitch
Beat Force Mode with any character four times.

Third Outfits
Some characters have more then the default two outfits. Some are available right from the start, for others there are certain criteria to be met before they are available.

Jin's School Outfit can be selected with Start or Right Punch after you have selected him fifty times in Arcade, Versus, Force or Tekken Ball Mode.
Law's Yellow Jump Suit can be selected with Start.
Ling's School Outfit can be selected with Start or Right Punch after you have selected her fifty times in Arcade, Versus, Force or Tekken Ball Mode.
Eddy's "Tiger" Outfit can be selected with Start or Right Punch after you have beaten Arcade Mode with sixteen different characters.
Gun Jack's "Jack-2"Outfit can be selected with Start or Right Punch after you have selected him ten times in Arcade, Versus, Force or Tekken Ball Mode.
Anna's Zebra Outfit can be selected with Start or Right Punch after you have selected her twenty five times in Arcade, Versus, Force or Tekken Ball Mode.

Alternate Character and Mode release
There is a another way of releasing extra characters and game modes. As you accumilate battles in versus mode new features and characters will be unlocked.

100 Battles : Kuma unlocked
150 Battles : Julia unlocked
200 Battles : Gun Jack unlocked
250 Battles : Mokujin unlocked
300 Battles : Anna unlocked
350 Battles : Bryan unlocked
400 Battles : Heihachi unlocked
450 Battles : Ogre unlocked

550 Battles : Tekken Ball Mode unlocked
600 Battles : Tiger unlocked
650 Battles : Gon unlocked
700 Battles : Dr. Bosconovitch unlocked

Alternate and Different Costume EMBU
Once you have defeated Arcade Mode with all the default characters you will see the EMBU with the other costumes. The original EMBU still appears as the the Different Costume EMBU will be every other EMBU played.
The Alternate Switched Character EMBU will start running once you have defeated Arcade Mode with every character. Every other third EMBU will be the Alternate EMBU.

Mokujin Wood Impact Sound
After selecting Mokujin hold down until the match start. The standard hit sounds will be replaced with the wood block hit sound effect.

Releasing All Characters
Keep beating Arcade Mode with different characters until everybody is released. An interesting side note, on the PlayStation2 version you can play Kazuya and Angel as a team. This was not possible in the arcade. The release takes after the Arcade Time release as far as order.

Activating Theater Mode
The Theater Mode gets opened up after you beat Arcade Mode once. You need to keep on beating Arcade Mode with different characters as first team member to release all ending movies. The bottom right corners indicates how many movie each character has. Getting all movies requires you the beat Arcade more then once with some characters such as Ling (once regular and once in school outfit) and Panda or Kuma.

Tekken Bowl Mode
Tekken Bowl Mode gets activated together with the release of Ogre. Score 200 points in Tekken Bowl Mode and you will be able to select the soundtrack within Tekken Bowl Mode.

Gallery Mode
Gallery Mode gets activated together with the release of Devil. During play you can now pause the game and save a screenshot to your memory card.

Changing Unknown's Style Without Tagging
Push the Right Analog Stick on the Dual Shock2 as if you would push a button. Don't tap a direction, just push it straight down.

Stage Select in Practice Mode
Highlight Practice Mode in the main game menu. Press and Hold the L2 shoulder button and then tap the R2 shoulder button up to 20 times to select the stage you want. Release both shoulder buttons and go about selecting Practice Mode and your characters as you normally would. Check the list to find out how many taps are needed for your favorite stage.

Unlocking Eddy Gordo (Christie Palette Swap)
Beat Story Mode with Christie Monteiro at least once. The select Christie using the Right Punch button and you will be able to play Eddy Gordo. Since this is a palette swap, Eddy has no moves of his own.
Only one player can be Eddy, if the second player tries to select Eddy as well you end up playing as Christie.

Unlocking Miharu (Ling Palette Swap)
Beat Story Mode with Ling Xiaoyu at least once. The select Ling using the Right Kick button and you will be able to play Miharu. Since this is a palette swap, Miharu has no moves of her own.
If the second player tries to select Miharu as well you end up with Ling Xiaoyu in her Tekken 3 School Girl outfit.

Select Ling with Right Punch after you have beat Story Mode with Ling.

Getting Your Records On The Internet Ranking Site
Beat whatever mode you would like to enter your records for using the default game settings (these are the settings colored green, such as 2 rounds or medium difficulty). Once you have beat the mode and you enter your initials press and hold Square and Triangle, then tap u/f on the joystick. You will see a password you can enter on the Japanese PlayStation2 Tekken 4 Namco site.

Unlocking Eddy Gordo
Eddy is an extra outfit you buy for Christie (500,000G on console instead of the 400,000G price tag on the arcade version).

Unlocking Devil Jin
You can unlock Devil Jin using various methods.

Method 1: Complete the 'Devil Within' side game

Method 2: Play a bunch of games in Arcade Mode, VS Mode or Story Mode. While we do not have the exact number, 200 or so games in Arcade Mode seems to unlock him.

Method 3: After you have unlocked everybody but Devil Jin continue beating Story Mode with different characters to unlock their endings. When you have about 5 or 6 more endings to unlock Devil Jin will become playable.

Unlocking Jinpachi
Jinpachi is not a playable character so you can't unlock him through normal game operations, however with the help of a cheat device such as Game Shark or Action Replay you can play him.

Activating Theater Mode
The Theater Mode gets opened up after you beat Story Mode once with whatever character. At that time you are able to listen to the stage soundtracks, view the movies of the character you just beat Story Mode with and the attract movies (Arcade Intro, PlayStation2 Intro, and E3/TGS trailers). Unlocking Jinpachi's Ending Movie
Since Jinpachi is not a playable character you cannot beat Story Mode using him in order to unlock his ending. Instead lose to Jinpachi during Story Mode and do not continue. After the continue countdown you will see his CG Ending and it will now be avaiable in Theater Mode

Earning Game Money
You earn money in Arcade Mode, if you play higher ranked CPU opponents you will be rewarded with a higher amount of G after defeating the opponent. The money earned per fight in Arcade Mode ranges from 800G to about 4000G. In Arcade Mode you will also encounter random roulettes which multiply your winnings.

The fastest way to get some money in the bank at first is to unlock the endingd for all characters by completing Story Mode with everybody. This gets you 100,000G per character for the first time through only.

You can also collect money while playing 'Devil Within' and are rewarded an extra 1,000,000G upon completing the quest.

Getting Expensive Items For Free
That's right, you can get a bunch of the high priced items for free when you play 'Devil Within' a second time after you have already completed the quest. Various expensive items will be scattered around throughout the game.

Gaining Ranks Quicky
In order to gain ranks quickly you must play opponents of the same rank as you are, same as it is in the arcade version. When defeating CPU opponents of the same rank as your character it usually only requires 3 to 5 wins to get a promotion.
After your fight has ended in Arcade Mode you can select on of 3 opponents with the directional pad, you can't always select an opponent with the same rank but do so when one is available. You;ll have your character rank maxed out in no time.

Hidden Story Mode Interludes
Don't always be quick to defeat the Story Mode interlude opponents, in some cases when you lose you get to see a different movie as part of the story.
